Ellumpuram View Point

This can be reached by traveling 2.3 km from a place called Kandathimavu on the Pala–Moolamattom State Highway, along the road leading to Kanjiram Kavala. This expansive flat rock stretching over acres and its surrounding areas are situated at an altitude of 1,000 feet above sea level. This hilltop used to be the training ground (kalari) of "Ahaa Neloor," who were once legendary tug-of-war champions in Kerala. They conduct tug-of-war competitions and training camps here every year; the filming of the movie Ahaa Neloor also took place at this location.
In addition, off-road bike and bicycle races are regularly organized in this area. Benefiting from steady western winds, this region is also an ideal spot for paragliding from Alingapara in Muttom Panchayat, which sits 300 feet above it. The approach road to the view point passes through Muttom Panchayat. The Ellumpuram Hill View site is located across both Kadanad Panchayat and Muttom Panchayat in the Idukki district.
