St. Sebastian's Forane Church, Kadanad
Kadanad Church is the oldest among the churches in Kadanad Grama Panchayat. Records indicate that the church had its beginnings in the year 1554. The royal family provided generous assistance in the establishment of this church. The festival (thirunal) celebrated here on January 15–16 is observed as a grand festival cutting across barriers of caste and religion. The wooden statue of St. Sebastian is an excellent specimen of artistic craftsmanship. Later, churches were established in places like Kurumannu, Neloor, Manathoor, Urumbukavu, Pizhaku, Mattathippara, Elivali, Maryland, Kavumkandam, and Ainkombu.
